4/8/22 LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap
Our April 8th session was a 2-TA Day! It is hopefully also the last time that we have to talk about bathrooms in this recap, because we were able to reach a Tentative Agreement on Workspaces Health & Safety with a new MOU on Bathrooms! The MOU establishes a joint-committee to work out our bathroom cleanliness and working order issues, and we agreed to hold off on filing bathroom grievances for the first 18-months to give the committee some time to discuss and implement fixes. We’re glad that the administration has committed to resolve all the bathroom-related problems in our workspaces together.
We were also pleased to reach a TA on Layoff & Recall. This proposal sets out a process for layoff, including mandating 60-days of notice prior to layoff, and providing LACs with information about benefits and resources available to them, as well as a clear process for recall.
We are hopeful that the movement we saw at the table today signals momentum going forward in the coming weeks.
Highlights of the bargaining session:
We reached 2 TAs (Workspaces Health & Safety w/ MOU on Bathrooms; Layoff & Recall), bringing our total TA count to 13!
LEO-GLAM shared a package (Grievance & Arbitration; Harassment; Non-Discrimination; No Strike) and 2 counters (Layoff & Recall; Discipline & Dismissal)
Admin shared 2 counters and 1 package (Layoff & Recall; Discipline & Dismissal; (Package E: Workspaces Health & Safety; MOU Joint Committee on Restroom Cleanliness and Working Order)
For those of you observing Passover or Easter later this week, we wish you a Chag Sameach or a Happy Easter, respectively! Don’t forget to sign up to join us on April 19th at noon, when we will march from the Diag to the Buhr building. We look forward to seeing you at Bargaining again next Friday!
