LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap for 2/5/2025

At our February 5th bargaining session, we were treated to an informative presentation about Artificial Intelligence by member and Data Visualization Librarian, Justin Joque, after which we presented a brand new article about AI to management. We continued the busy pace of passes this week, with each side presenting 6 articles at the table, and engaged in several substantive exchanges for clarification at the table.

Highlights of the bargaining session included:

  • Reached a Tentative Agreement on Article XIV: Benefits. This brings our TA count to 8.

  • Passed language across the table regarding the inclusion of Research Museum Collection Managers in our bargaining unit, who we believe are performing work equivalent to that of Librarians, Archivists, and Curators.

Please save the date for our upcoming in-person bargaining sessions and make plans to attend if possible. We will share more details (table and caucus times, carpool options, etc.) as they are available.

  • March 19 in Flint

  • April 2 in Dearborn

  • April 16 in Ann Arbor

Next week, February 10-14th from 11-1p, we will be tabling in the Shapiro Lobby and collecting “Love Letters to LACs” from the University community. Feel free to stop by and say hello! We’ll see you back for more bargaining on Wednesday, February 12th! LEO-GLAM members can register for bargaining at bit.ly/GLAMbargaining25.
