LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap for 1/15/2025

On January 15th we held the first bargaining session for our second collective bargaining agreement. We made introductions between the bargaining teams, shared opening statements and passed several proposals, including 6 passed by LEO-GLAM and 4 passed by management.

You can track the progress we make on proposals using our handy article tracker

Highlights of the bargaining session included:

  • 2 Tentative Agreements reached (Article VI: Union and Employer Conferences, and MOU 1: Collections Acquisition Activities).

  • Both the Employer and the Union expressed a strong commitment to accessible workspaces and the accommodations process.

  • Management communicated a desire to get the contract done quickly and efficiently, and demonstrated their willingness to get to work by bringing substantive proposals on the first day.

We also celebrated a kick-off rally on the Diag during the lunch hour. While the weather was cold, LEO-GLAM members stayed warm with hot cocoa and our brand new beanies as they heard from speakers about why this contract matters and what we’re fighting for. We were also treated to a rousing rendition of “Solidarity Forever” by the ACLC choir, and showed off our cool swag.

We’ll be back on Zoom next Wednesday to continue passing proposals, and we invite LEO-GLAM members to join us for bargaining and caucus. You can find bargaining resources, including our Bargaining Glossary, Zoom backgrounds, and other helpful items in the Bargaining Toolkit.
