LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap for 1/22/2025
At our January 22nd bargaining session, we spent our second week quite productively turning around TAs, counters, and several additional first passes. We notably had a substantive discussion about our commitment to continuing to limit the overall number of term appointments as part of our counter on Article XI: Appointments and Annual Reviews.
You can track the progress we make on proposals using our handy article tracker.
Highlights of the bargaining session included:
Reached 4 additional TA’s including:
(1) MOU #4: Support for International LACs, (2) Article VII: Release Time for Union Activities, (3) Article IX: Information and New Hire Reporting, and (4) Article XX: Job Posting, Hiring, and Notification. This brings our TA count to 6!
Continuing to optimize our contract language to align with both current practice and SPG language that conforms to the realities of our roles as non-tenure track faculty who are employed 12 months of the year.
LACs cite our sources, and we shared this 2024 Council on Library & Information Resources (CLIR) report with management about the impact of precarious temporary employment in our field.
Thank you so much to our members and allies (including the ACLC choir!) who braved the cold to join us for our kick-off rally last week. See you at bargaining next Wednesday
