2/4/22 LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap

Our February 4th session might seem deceptively spare compared to some of the rapid-fire activity of past weeks, but in fact was very productive with the LEO-GLAM Bargaining Team making strides on a number of important economic proposals that we are preparing for the table in the coming weeks. As you may know, our ground rules stipulate that all proposals be on the table by February 18th.

Admin shared their most recent counter on Academic Rights & Responsibilities with new language as a result of sidebar conversation last week. We believe this language gets us closer to agreement. We held our second sidebar conversation on Work Schedules & Locations, but we were disappointed to receive admin’s counter on this proposal, as it did not acknowledge current practices and our ability to exercise professional discretion in how best to accomplish our duties.

Highlights of the bargaining session:

  • LEO-GLAM shared 1 new proposal (Professional Development) and 1 counter (Workspaces, Health & Safety)

  • Admin shared 2 counters (Academic Rights & Responsibilities, Work Locations & Schedules)

Our next two weeks are going to be exciting, as we place our remaining proposals on the table prior to the February 18th deadline. We’ve left some of our major economic proposals for the end, and are looking forward to presenting them. See you at bargaining next Friday.
