2/18/22 LEO-GLAM Bargaining Recap
Our February 18th session marked a milestone, as we met our ground rules deadline to pass all proposals across the table for the first time. Bargaining Team member Dave Choberka took the lead in presenting our Salary proposal, which is grounded in the principle of equity. The presentation included a number of visualizations of how our proposal would increase equity across campuses and units, including a one-time equity adjustment in year one and annual increases in years 2 and 3 of the contract, as well as standardized increases upon promotion. We are immensely thankful to members who have worked hard on this proposal for the past several months, and especially want to recognize the efforts of the current Salary Subcommittee: Sam Hansen, Dave Choberka, Aprille McKay, Becky Welzenbach, Meredith Kahn, as well as past members Jackson Huang and Nadine Anderson. We would also like to thank the many LEO-GLAM members who joined us to observe bargaining–your presence in the room was felt!
Highlights of the bargaining session:
Signed 2 MOUs related to COVID-19 (Booster vaccinations, In-person interaction) which will take immediate effect and are part of Impact Bargaining rather than regular contract negotiations
LEO-GLAM shared 2 new proposals (Salary, Unpaid Leaves) and 1 new MOU (Collections Acquisitions Activities)
Admin shared 1 counter (Workload) and 2 packages:
Package A (Union Rights, Management Rights)
Package B (Dues Deduction, No Strike, Scope & Term of Agreement, Felony Disclosure)
We will take a 2-week hiatus from bargaining for Winter Break, and hope to see you at Bargaining again on Friday, March 11th.
