What is your specialization or area of research?

Career-Centered Writing, Community-Based Learning.

What are some of your professional achievements?

I have a PhD in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.

Over the past decade or so, I've committed to evolving the focus and methods of my teaching every year or so to keep my courses fresh and stimulating.

I am a Cleveland native, Lecturer, and LEO member who has been a CSP writing instructor for over 27 years, following two years teaching at Eastern Michigan University. A co-recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award and a four-time Golden Apple Award nominee, I teach first- and second-year writing courses and serve as co-coordinator for the CSP 105: Writing and Culture Seminar in the Summer Bridge Scholars Program. I also co-conducted a 2018 NINI-Grant-funded Community-Based Learning project in Fall 2018 and Winter 2019.

What might others not know about you?

I have published two novels—Dark Rhythm and Watching—and am hard at work on a third.

I do most of the cooking at home.
