LEO Union Council Statement on Student Arrests and Injuries

We condemn the use of force deployed Tuesday, May 21 on the Ann Arbor campus, which resulted in arrests and injury to members of the campus community. We condemn the use of library spaces to conduct clandestine surveillance. While the safety of the campus community is paramount, the actions of the University administration have undermined both safety and trust. We believe the University must not infringe upon rights to free speech, protest, and academic freedom.
