Lecturer Bargaining Update: Bargaining Recap for 6/18/21

“We Expect to Receive Salary on Wednesday”

On Friday, what we expected did not happen. We had hoped for clarity on salary after Thursday's budget vote, but we did not receive a salary counter.  We are hoping for a much improved salary offer during Wednesday's bargaining session.

We continue to do our part in terms of moving proposals towards completion. We passed back our Felony Disclosure proposal and we are closer to agreement than we were on Wednesday. There is still some work to do but we’re making progress.

We have conceptual agreement on the Teaching Professor MOU, except for the College of Engineering MOU that it is packaged with. This is a huge win for us. Three years ago management wouldn’t even consider Teaching Professor titles.

As we wait to receive the salary counter, we must keep organizing and building pressure for our contract demands. If you wish to join your colleagues in doing house visits this week to educate members about our progress in bargaining to help secure a fair contract, please contact Alex at alex@leounion.org.

We will be back at the Bargaining Table again this Wednesday, June 23rd at 10am. Stay tuned for more details.
